A publication is a publication, not a photo studio
Every campus journalist has a duty to fulfill their work in every way possible. We make it our mission to bring people the latest news they need to know, despite the challenges we face. It may look as simple as clicking a post button, but it’s far more complex than that. And asking for more isn’t something we demand in return.
Your feed might be filled with countless updates, articles, photos, and live coverages. Taking a moment to appreciate this work isn’t hard. Behind every published post is the story of a journalist who sacrificed much just to produce that one post, one that might go unnoticed.
We face countless struggles: inconsistent event schedules, back-to-back coverages, cameras with scratched lenses and cracked screens, overheating laptops from editing endless graphics. We brave the scorching sun and dash through pouring rain, all to give you the updates you need, on time.
Yet, some still cross the line, demanding personal coverage as if it’s a simple task.
“Wala bang picture *section*?” “Saan na yung picture namin?”
We are not your personal photographers. We are not your personal content-creating team. We are a publication. We serve everyone, and we are here for the news we aim to deliver.
Have some respect, and have some empathy.
